Okaaayyy...I dont get all the great reviews this book got?!?!!? This is by far one of the most wasted 2.99 or whatever i paid..it started out ok, chloe wrecked on the side of the road, chase (insert hero) saves the day...ok got it..not even an hour later, He takes her to his brothers guesthouse at the family winery..and into a bedroom where a naked woman (that he intended to sleep with before he met the love of his life, Chloe)..and proceeds to have a conversation with this naked girl and she makes jokes about a threesome?? cmon!!!! ..ok 5 minutes later.. Chloe is masturbating in a bathtub in his brothers guest house and he intrudes on her in the bathroom, and proceeds to watch her?!!? i would freak out if a man i barely knew 5 minutes seen me completely naked and masturbating, but she shrugs it off and begins to joke with him about it?!!? BUT poor, pitiful, scared & timid chloe is so shutdown from her emotions and scared of men bc an ex husband beat her up earlier this day.. ok..less than 24 hours later ...she's "saving the day" by sewing a tear in a dress for a model?...because...(how convenient)..she's an expert quilter that knows everything there is to know about fabric and such!!! (rolls eyes)...and 10 pages later we are still hearing about "Chloe, i heard you saved the day yesterday!!" OMGGGGG!!!!!!!!..anyways....then there are models undressing but oh Mr. Good Guy Chase would NEVER look at the young models breasts ....(was he not planning a one night stand with a girl named Ellen, when he ran accross the most beautiful woman he's ever seen wrecked on the side of the road with a bruise on her face and standing in the "pounding rain"...make up running, hair a mess)..COME OOOONNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then every other page is "where are these feelings coming from?? I cant believe im having these feelings" "My life was nothing until she came along" (...yea 48 hours ago) blah blah blah!!! This was beyond a sappy romance..this was just plain ridiculous!!!!! There was no conversation bw these two, nothing happened to make them fall in love w/each other, there was no conflict they supposedly just fell inlove ...whatever!!! I quit reading about mid ways through bc i just couldnt take the repetiveness of their thoughts..and ridiculous banter! Ugh..well theres my rant :)Product details

This is the first in the series and based on this book I will not be reading the remainder of this series. Have never read Bella Andre before and if this is the best she has to offer I cannot for the life of me understand how she got be a best-selling author. This book is badly written in that it is shallow & immature whilst attempting to be 2 things all at once - heavily sexually alluring to the point of pre-occupied with sex .... and wholesome & innocent!! How do those 2 things go together? Lacking in story substance, and given the canvas of the Napa Valley that the author had at her fingertips(literally) to see so little reference to all that natural beauty is disappointing to see such an opportunity go begging to enrich this novel and deepen its appeal,while the author spent more effort on attempting to impress the reader with money & riches. It's not difficult to realise the author knows little about running vineyards and wineries. Our male lead character did little short of walk on water to the point where this became an insult to my intelligence, AND WAIT FOR THIS ..... "Mr Superguy" walks in on the lead female when she's in the bathtub - on the very first night they meet when they barely know each other! How do those 2 things go together? Any self respecting woman would've slapped him. Any self-respecting man would never have done it. It starts to feel really non-sensical. The fleeting attempt at portraying the lead characters as creative and entrepreneurial fell flat as it came across as just an attempt at padding out the sex encounters which is what this book seemed to be largely about - to the point of boring. I don't feel anyone needs to read a characters musings of blow by blow analysis of every single thought, wish & need that lead up the to the lovemaking which reads like trying to justify the fact ... just as they are about to head for the bedroom - snore.........zzzzzzzz!! It seriously interrupted the action. And...... I never felt the love ..... that's how poor the writing is. If these 2 main characters are becoming emotionally attached I really didn't get pulled into it - I felt like an objective observer rather than being carried along with our characters. The sex scenes lack sensuality and are way too wordy - I actually laughed out loud at one point because all the wordy overdone irrelevant details once again kill the mood and comes across again as an attempt to fix poor writing that hasn't managed to achieve the objective. This is almost a book for the "young adult" section but the sex makes in inappropriate for that age bracket - but that really is the level of the writing - but I have to say that even as a teenager I was reading better quality and depth than this. I didn't finish it - I couldn't stomach it any longer and gave it up.
